Privatization Law

Privatization is the incidence or process of transferring ownership of a business, enterprise, agency or public service from the public sector (the state or government) to the private sector (businesses that operate for a private profit). In a broader sense, privatization refers to transfer of any government function to the private sector – including governmental functions like revenue collection and law enforcement.

The fundamental transformation in the Kosovar economy has been evident during the massive privatization process since 2003. The investment opportunities in Kosovo are particularly attractive in the framework of country’s ongoing attractive privatization agenda. The involvement and participation of international investors is highly encouraged by the law in course of current privatization program.

We represent businesses and private persons who are interested in privatizing public companies in Kosovo in front of the Kosovo Privatization Agency, the competent Courts and other institutions. Amongst others, our services involve providing legal analysis for the benefits of privatizing a certain company, preparing the necessary documentation for an offer and other relevant legal services to privatization.
