Privatisation in Kosovo

Privatisation is the process of transferring ownership of a business, enterprise, agency or public service from the public sector (the state or government) to the private sector.

The fundamental transformation in Kosovo economy has occurred through the large-scale privatisation process initiated in 2003. Investment opportunities in Kosovo have emerged within the framework of the country’s ongoing privatisation agenda. The involvement of international investors is actively encouraged under the current legal frameworks.

We offer high-level legal services for investors seeking to invest, or already invested, in Kosovo’s various privatisation programs, whether organised by the Government of Kosovo or the Privatisation Agency of Kosovo. In addition, we specialise in representing clients throughout the liquidation of Socially Owned Enterprises before the Privatisation Agency of Kosovo, as well as in court proceedings and arbitration forums.
